Does vacation always mean a bright sun and serene skies? Not necessarily! Having asked ourselves the question: "What is it like to travel in the tropics in the wet season?" we decided that our next destination would be Sri Lanka and the Maldives. We deliberately chose to set out in September - the peak of the rainy season. "If we enjoy such conditions," we thought, "then this will prove that we are capable of traveling during any time of the year."
